Simatic S5 at a glance

The S5 family is split up into several different ranges; 90U, 95U, 101U, 100U, 105, 110, 135U and 155U. The higher the number, the more expensive and sophisticted the system, making them suitable for even the most complex of tasks.

Each chassis contains a power supply and a backplane with slots for several different option modules such as digital and analogue I/O modules, communication options such as Ethernet and serial communications, interface modules and special function modules.
